Optativa: idioms and other expressions

Idioms are a combination of words that have a figurative meaning. Translation idioms is very difficult because sometimes the equivalent expression in the other language is totally different. In this exercise, you will be tested on how you translate idioms. You will need:

• A copy of the Oxford Pocket Dictionary Eng-Cat (other dictionaries may not contain the information you need to complete the questionnaire. 
• This wikipedia entry. It will give you lots of information about idioms. You need it to complete the first part of the questionnaire.
• The activity worksheet that you can download here.
• The questionnaire, filled in with your answers.
