GROUP 1: Oscar Wilde’s works
Each
student must choose a work by Oscar Wilde: a novel, a play... But one of you
must choose a famous novel by a different author. Use this image and add the title of the text using
an ARIAL font. Put all the books together into one single Powerpoint file. When
you finish it, send it to me on Plataforma Eleven.
GROUP 2: Oscar Wilde’s quotations.
Oscar
Wilde is famous for his quotations. Each student must look up a quotation by
Oscar Wilde. One of you, however, must
find a famous quotation by another author. Use this image and add your quotation (it must
be a short one). Put all the images together into a single Powerpoint file.
When you finish it, send it to me on Plataforma Eleven.
GROUP 3: How many languages did he speak?
Oscar
Wilde was not only proficient in English. He could speak another language too.
Which one? Each student must translate the sentence “Hello! My name is Oscar
Wilde. Did you like my play?” into a language other than English. You need to
copy that text and paste into a flag that corresponds to that language. Put all
the flags together, with their texts, into a single Powerpoint file. When you
finish, send it to me on Plataforma Eleven.
GROUP 4: Question about The Canterville Ghost.
One
of Oscar Wilde’s most popular stories was The Canterville Ghost. Each of you
must write a short sentence about the process of writing the story: who was the
story intended to, when did he write it, how many pages it had. All the facts
must be true. Use this
image and put all the facts into a single Powerpoint file. When you finish,
send it to me on Plataforma Eleven.
GROUP 5: Question about The Canterville Ghost.
One of Oscar Wilde’s most popular
stories was The Canterville Ghost. Each of you must write a short sentence
about the story plot: how old was the ghost, what was the name of the girl?
Where did the Otis family come from...? One of the sentences must be false. Use
this
image and put all your texts into a single Powerpoint file. When you
finish, send it to me on Plataforma Eleven.
GROUP 6: Question about Wilde’s death.
Oscar Wilde’ death was a tragic
story of poverty and isolation. Each student must make up a fact about his
death using the past simple, but only one of you must write a real fact. Put
all the “facts” together into a Powerpoint file. You must add this
picture to the slide. When you finish, send it to me on on Plataforma Eleven.
