OPTATIVA: end-of-term project


COMPUTER TRANSLATOR OR DICTIONARY. WHAT’S BEST?


Objective: make a 2-3 minute presentation about the topic.
1.       Basics of google translate:
a.       How does it work?
b.      Languages
c.       Alternative translations
2.       Basics of dictionary use:
a.       Alphabetical order.
b.      Multiple translations
c.       Other information (idioms, pronunciation)
3.       Advantages of google translate
4.       Advantages of a good dictionary
5.       Conclusion

Assessment
· Speaking in Catalan = 5 max
· Speaking in Catalan and English = 6 max
·1 pronuncation (effort)
· 1 mark per section.
· 1 vocabulary (variation).
· 1 mark if there are good examples
· 1 everybody shares the tasks equally
· -5 marks if shorter than 2 minutes.
